Friday July 6th

Arti Gras

The seventh annual Arti Gras at Russell Crossroads will be held Friday, July 6th, and Saturday, July 7th on the Town Green. Artisans and patrons from all over gather for this vast annual display of handmade goods. Artisans feature everything from jewelry, soaps, paintings, pottery, woodwork, lotions, furniture, and much more! Friday on the Green

Fermenter's Market on the Green

In downtown Alexander City at 149 Alabama Street you can here Jonathan Bloom play in the pub beginning at 7pm.  @fermentersalexandercity

Yoga on the Green

Farmer's Market - Downtown Alexander City

Every Saturday morning from 7am - 11am take a walk through the farmer's stalls on Broad Street in Downtown Alexander City.  @mainstreetalexandercity

Pancake Breakfast

The yummiest, fluffiest, biggest pancakes ever will be ready for you from 8-10am in the Artist Cabin at Russell Crossroads. The Community Garden Club joins forces with SpringHouse Chef, Rob McDaniel, to create a griddled treat of holiday proportions! Of course there will be coffee, juice and lots of syrup and butter and it’s all for only 5 Bucks! Arti Gras

Naturalist Presentation

Stop into the Naturalist’s Cabin at Russell Crossroads to see an array of Russell Forest creatures and artifacts that will give you a glimpse into the wonders of your local woodlands. Naturalist Marianne will be on hand to interpret each item and assist children in learning about how to discover an interest in what’s found in their own backyard. This interactive display has plenty to touch and learn about! 9:00am - 1:00pm

Presentation includes live animals and is appropriate for all ages.

Wellborn Musclecar Museum

Every Saturday in Downtown Alexander City, the Wellborn Musclecar Museum opens its doors to the public.  $10 admission to see one of the worlds largest collections of muclecars.  It is an amazing site to behold.  @wellbornmusclecarmuseum  Open Saturdays 10:00am - 4:00pm

Guided Nature Tour

LET’S SPEND SOME TIME IN WOODS WITH NATURALIST MARIANNE!  For almost two hours, we will be in the woods identifying the variety of plant and animal life we discover. In addition to learning from the finds in the forest, we will search for wet residents keeping cool in summer temperatures. This energetic hike will offer both learning and exercise. Insect repellent and sunscreen will be provided – bring your own drinking water and comfortable shoes – preferably some that can get wet! Appropriate for participants ages 5 – 105.


 There is a $10 fee for this program. Please contact our Naturalist at 256-496-2710 or to inquire and to register.

For all Guided Nature Tours: We recommend that you have a moderate fitness level and are able to stand or walk for at least two hours. Walking pace will be relaxed with frequent stops. Comfortable, seasonally appropriate clothing and shoes are advised. You may also wish to bring bottled water, sunscreen and insect repellent. Binoculars and cameras are welcome. Remember, there are no bathrooms on the Forest Trails.

Coffee Corner - Downtown Alexander City

Coffee Corner will be hosting movie night in the alley.  The movie "Sandlot" begins at 7:30.  Come early for dinner and drinks. @thecoffeecorner

Church in the Pines

Brian Erickson of Trinity United Methodist Church of Birmingham will lead the service this week.  Arrive by land or water, the services start at 9:00am - 10:00am

Church of the Living Waters

Dr. Joel Richardson of Newnan, GA will lead services beginning at 9:00am
